It's a working upper LCD screen. Makes the difference between unusable DS and usable, so well worth $15.
Pain in the A$$ to solder the speakers and re-install. While mine arrived in good condition (no shipping damage), it has two pixels stuck on. One annoying red and a barely noticeable blue/green. Also, screen seems to flicker some times on certain screens, but looks fine in general.
Poorly designed LCD ribbon cable on original DS lite is what caused the problems in the first place. A little slip while trying to replace the DS housing and you need a whole new LCD just because the cable is creased.
Ridiculous that damaging a $.25 ribbon cable (easily done too) requires replacing a $15 LCD.
If you have the tools and steady hands to solder the speakers to the solder points on the LCD ribbon cable (or have someone to do it for you), it's $15 well spent to make a DS lite usable again.
