Works as advertised in that it allows you to see some of the data your car contains.
Board inside is designated 1.2 version. The chip itself reports itself as a 1.5a when you send the AT@1 command.
Detected as a clone by some of the software out there.
Disc supplied did not contain the software listed in the main advert. A list of compatible software is in one of the posts in the discussions below.
You need to install the latest FTDI drivers.
The unit doesn't work unless you connect it to a car - even though the power light is illuminated when you connect it to a pc, it will not respond to the commands until you connect to a car (as the ELM chip derives it's power from the car supply).
Worth a purchase as a typical garage would charge you more than it's price for simply plugging in their reader in most cases.
