This allows me to use my nice cellphone earphone/mic with my laptop & desktop. Works great, no issues with sound quality on either mic or earphones.
Cheap construction. It doesn't feel like it will stand up to too much wear.
This is a TRRS female (3.5mm 4-pin, the kind that cell phones use that have both a mic and stereo earphones) and converts it into two 3.5mm 3-pin TRS male jacks: Green is a normal male stereo headphone, and Red is a mono mic (even though it's 3-pin).
It works for me, but beware, a lot of reviewers did not understand what the product was, or it was not built for their case. The main use is to convert from a single TRRS jack to 2 TRS jacks. This is *not* a Y-splitter. This splits stereo audio into the green jack and microphone into the red jack.
Useful for taking earphones that come with your cell phone and plugging them into your PC or Laptop.
