(1) This converter is very cheap. Similar device in my neighborhood is ten dollars, (2) This is extremely simple, light and tiny, good for travelers
Max current is only 6A. I doubt you can use that convertor for such power-consuming devices as a hairdryer. For example, 1600W hairdryer would require current I=1600W/110V=14.5A, which is more than twice as much as allowed.
I bought five of them, and in addition I bought a couple of expensive high-current converters.
