  • A worthwhile investment

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Four independent charging circuits

    No wall wart

Indicates when batteries are no longer chargeable

LED backlight turns off when batteries are charged.

Very tight fit, particularly for AAA batteries

Lid comes off of hinge easily

Minor blemishes in plastic cover or LED

I'm not sure if/how the Refresh button works

I love that this device uses four separate circuits to recharge up to four batteries. This means you can recharge odd numbers of batteries and that the batteries can be of different ages and even different sizes (AA vs AAA), all at the same time. However, the Refresh button puts the batteries into a slow discharge/recharge cycle and I'm not sure if/how it benefits the batteries.

This is a really affordable recharger that has features similar to much more expensive devices on the market. It's reliable – I've used mine at least twice a week for several months without a hitch. I use NiMH batteries in a lot of electronics so this recharger has been a really smart investment.
