Bought 10 units totaly understanding this unit draws power from the input. We intend to use them as panel meters to measure voltages from 0 to 20 volts. The back lighting is good the display quality is good. Its easy to read from a distance. To turn this into a true 0-20 volt panel meter remove the diode from the input terminal to the regulator. Then attach power leads directly to the regulator. Power it from 7.2 to 20 v and measure your volts with the original input leads.
One of the 10 units has a bad power lead. This meant it did nothing. Believe its just a bad crimp and I have yet to fix it. The display worked fine when using a power cable from another.
This would be an excelent panel meter for 0-20 volt input if only provisions where made to power the unit from other than its input leads.
