Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:

Bright 502B, compact, well build (but need a some DIY work to proper cooling), easy to use.

    Cons:

The SSC-P7 emitter is good flooder emitter. So put it into so small body with so small reflector is not the best idea. But if you want 502B with the P7 - why not? The P7 is very-very hot, so you have to pay attention to the temperature and it will be good idea to add some extra heatsink - add metal foil and some thermal heat-sink compound (like sku.22510) around the drop in.

    OtherThoughts:

The 502B with the P7 is not so much brighter as you can expect comparind to the 502B with R2. The center spot of the R2 and throwing is better but the P7 gives you more solid and bigger center spot.

    Bottomline:

If you want thrower based on the 502B get the 502B with the R5, if you want real flood - the 502B and whole the P60 series is not good choise. The P7 version is not so serious but ok for daily short-time use (more convinient than the R2 version thanks to the bigger center spot and much overal brigtness).
