Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:

Valuable for anyone who wants to know the charge of batteries.

    Cons:

Dial almost always sticks at max when first measuring a battery, regardless of charge (shaking it is the only way to reliably unstick it).

A fully charged battery and one that's borderline have only a few mm difference on the dial between them. Only truly dead batteries venture into the red zone.

    Poor slide mechanism.

    OtherThoughts:

I've been using a 1xAA incandescent "keyring" from the 80's, it produces almost no light but it is useful as a gauge to see how much charge an AA battery has (and an AAA by bridging the gap with a piece of metal).

This tester can measure various battery sizes easily, but I'm not sure if it provides more information as the dial is not at a useful scale.

    Bottomline:

Overpriced considering the dodgy build quality, but I don't exactly see any other battery testers around. A must for anyone who has no other method of testing batteries.
