Decent build quality. The thermometer on mine is surprisingly accurate. Compass is decent enough, when it's freely turning.
Not as loud as another bonafide survival whistle I own, and requires more breath/effort... though it's still loud enough. Compass sometimes sticks, and you have to give it a few taps to get it going again. Plastic magnifying "glass" is all but useless to me--it's way too small to start fires (with sunlight). Overall, a little thicker than it should be, IMO.
I've seen another version of this whistle (at a local store) that has an additional LED light and signaling mirror.
