I`ve build one in a pc eliminating an external amplifier (I hate pc-speakers). The board is connected right on the PC`s 12V supply, which is a bit noisy unfortunatly. But by setting down the gain to 6dB (putting jumpers G1 & G0 both to Vr) this is not a real problem anymore. Results may differ in another setting though.

Subsceptible to supply-noise, terminals a bit flimsy, data should be included, but see "Pros".
Cheap, cool & compact, ideal for my purpose but you can sure think of many others.
If youre into electronics, you can`t afford not buying one ;) You wont believe the noise this little thing can produce even on 12Volts...
