Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month
* Simple LED replacement for standard car 12W/5W bulbs
* More than enough light (certainly more that the normal bulbs)
* Very simpel plastic housing that holds the bare LED (glued in), but quality seems to be good enough
* Used 1 set (2 LEDs) for a couple of months, 1 recently died
It is a normal white LED with a 560ohm series resistor. Nominal current 12V-Vf/R = 12-3.5(estimated)/560 = 15mA. This should be OK for almost all LEDs. So the LED was probably not overdriven....why does it die after only a couple of months.
Will do the job perfectly, but is the LED quality soo bad that it lives for no more than a couple of months? I will try a new set and see.......
