Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:

Very cheap for 4 SATA ports! I've got shops selling this with 2 ports for twice the price. Team this up with the SATA data and power cables on DX and you're on your way to setting up yourself a cheap file server from an old computer.

    Cons:

As others have noticed, one of the PCI card's "gaps" are too small to fit into a PCI slot. I had to file it to make the gap bigger.

    OtherThoughts:

    Bottomline:

Dirt cheap and does exactly what its supposed to. I'm using this in Ubuntu 8.04 (non RAID) with two 500GB Samsung drives. Worked out of the box without any changes.
