This stuff is very inexpensive yet effective! What I did was crush it into a powder, the particles being about the same size as granulated sugar or table salt, dissolved that into 100ml of ~99% isopropyl alcohol (I used the 'salting out' method of removing the water) along with about 1.5ml of Glycerin. At first it didn't look or work like my commercial flux, but after letting it sit on my desk for a couple days, it obtained the dark amber color and actually worked *better* than my other flux!
For those with no prior experience homebrewing rosin flux, there is a bit of a learning curve, but once you get the formula correct, you'll never buy "real" flux again!
