Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month
Pros:
It's cheap, but only get this if you need the eSata connector, otherwise you can get full enclosures for less money.
Cons:
The case is plastic, which is not a problem by itself except the hinges are just bent plastic too. The question is not IF they will break, but WHEN, and I think sooner rather than later.
OtherThoughts:
If the con doesn't bother you then by all means go for it. Myself I only use the cable and the option of having both an eSata port AND a USB cable (you can use either or both)
Bottomline:
This works great for laptop hard drives, but I failed to test it for a 3.5 drive, hopefully the added power from the extra USB cable will be able to spin it. I will test an hopefully be able to amend the review later on.
