Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month
Pros:
- plentyful
- cheap
- flows well
- works well
- Did I mention the price?
Cons:
- Perhaps a syringe would be a nice add-on, but since the price is tiny and I can get syringes very cheap here in Finland, it's no problem. A few Euros bought me a small bagful of a few different kinds of syringes to test different needles and such.
OtherThoughts:
For the people that are having trouble with shorts when using this: learn to use it properly and only use a small amount, placing it in the correct spot. Even with only a tiny screwdriver you can dab the correct amount on SMD pads to get the job done.
Mostly I use this stuff to mount 0805-sized caps and resistors, but lately I've used it to mount various SMD ICs as well - for example a SHT15 from Sensirion. No problems there, either.
Bottomline:
It does what it should, gets the job done nice and neat. And cheap. One of the best buys from DealExtreme so far.
