The wood was not sandpapered properly, leaving some barbs that may end up hurting any child. The axis of the main rotor shaft slightly twisted causing friction with the timber preventing the rotor to rotate. I solved the problem by sanding the helicopter. The skids are made of wood without resistance and can be easily broken if handled by some careless child. Still, this remains a great children or helicopter pilots. A good gift, but I wish it were a little cheaper, or a little higher quality.

It works, and kids can learn about solar panels and sunlight by moving it from direct sunlight into shadows.
The wood is very stable. Some kids might be too rough and throw the helicopter blades down on something hard which could break it. But, if the kid is either smart enough or old enough, you...

Solar panel has to be in direct sunlight, but what do you expect from a tiny solar panel on a small toy? The plastic used in the plastic blades could have been reinforced for durability. It would seem a bit expensive, but it's a nice classic toy that doesn't need batteries. Kids think it's pretty neat since it "moves by itself".
