I've bought it as a hdd box for my Wii to avoid manual handling of game discs. Put a 500 GB Seagate (1.54W) into this little box and it works without any problems. One USB port is enough to power up my hdd so I can use the second USB for ethernet.
Material used for the box is really thin, but I'm not travelling with it so it's ok for me.
When using FAT32, Windows won't let you format partition>32GB. But this is not con of this box, it's just the feature of Windows.
There are lists of Wii compatible USB HDDs. I've bought this cheap one and it works.
