Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:

    It's frikkin' cheap!

    It's solar (no batteries!)

The pieces do assemble very well

There are no burrs in the pieces

    Nice sensitive solar panel

Manual is very good, 100% drawn, no chinglish

    Cons:

The gearbox assembly did not work first try. I had to remove a protruding part of one of the gears (the one that's driven directly by the motor). After doing this, it worked just fine.

    OtherThoughts:

I have two kids; I gave the 10 year old one of the piece panels and the 6 year old the other. Then, following the manual I asked each kid in turn for a piece and they actually saw their work built a walking robot. They could not believe their eyes!

The panel is enough to make the robot walk even before dusk, when the sun is a little low in the horizon.

    Bottomline:

A good buy. Thinking of getting another solar DIY toy for the kids (and ME!).
