Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month
My first mains powered LED bulb and I'm impressed. Seems well made and all the LEDs light. The 2.5W light output is approximately as bright as a 5-6W compact fluorescent lamp. Light quality is closer to white than other types of bulb usually described as 'warm white'. It may be my imagination but I think there's a hint of green to the light - very slight though. No sign of flicker. I bought two of these and the light output appears to be identical.
None as yet.
If it lasts, it's a bargain. I use mine in an outside bulkhead lamp (clear glass, sealed) in conjunction with a photocell - works fine. Tried it indoors under a frosted glass shade and didn't notice the faint hint of green.
Metal contacts/terminals are visible and easy to touch. I haven't checked the voltage at these terminals but imagine it would be low because most (all?) LEDs work at 3 or 4 volts.
If you're after a low powered, compact and fairly cheap introduction to LED mains lighting, but it!
