Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

Metal frame with the electronics housing being plastic. The lever to open the jaws is also plastic.
    Easy to use
Reasonably accurate, mine would only zero to 0.02mm, which is close enough for me.
Mounting hole to secure device should you require it firmly mounted.
    Spare battery supplied
Reasonably sturdy box to protect the micrometer
Bright, clear figures in the display, 8mm tall
Does what it says on the tin!

Came with the display flashing due to low battery!
The lever pivot looks like the weakest point to me.. just a cheap brass rivet, could be replaced easily though when/if it fails

The box could do with being slightly bigger so the device isn't accidently switched on in transit!!

This is perfect for modelling and not too serious engineering, should last a lifetime.
    Its a steal at $13
DE also do a 100mm vernier micrometer at about the same price(SKU 11965) and a 150mm vernier for $20 (SKU 49305)
