  • It's definitely kapton

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:

This roll goes on forever, I have used about 3 or 4 meters of the stuff and haven't noticed a change in the thickness of the roll. It's kapton so it is highly thermally and electrically insulative (including protection against corona discharge) and provides a smooth surface to print on if using a 3d printer for ABS printing. I think it is also chemically resilient as well (can handle acidic environments), but this is just off the top of my head.

    Cons:

None. Yhough some may find that the adhesive is lacking. If your using it for it's adhesive properties, your doing it wrong.

    OtherThoughts:

About 4 layers of tape can insulate you against burns from a 200C object, or so I found :D

    Bottomline:

If you understand what kapton is and how to use it, you will have no problems.
