  • The 110V version works for 240V too!

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:

    Cheap and good value
The heating element, hot side is reasonably short so you can hold it comfortably like a pen and it makes it quite easy to work with and do precise work. Tip is quite precise.

    Cons:

Version I got was not transparent like in the picture where you can see though the circuits but that is not important.
    Cable could be longer.

    OtherThoughts:

I bought this 110v version by mistake as I live in a 240v country. I tried it anyway and it works. One thing is that I believe the output is now double so I only needed to dial it halfway to get 60w power. I also increased it a little and the element glowed red hot!! Wow, this is the hottest soldering iron I have used.

    Bottomline:

Careful not to turn it up too high if you plug it into 240V socket. The last 3 mm tip melted away because it was too hot.
