Able to focus the line. Can work with higher voltages compared to all other 5mW red line lasers at Deal Extreme.
Line starts breaking up at the edges. As a result, the intensity of the light is uneven. The line achieves sharp focus when the focal ring is almost at the end of its thread, quite often you'll end up popping the tip off unintentionally. The prism turns with the focal ring, meaning your line will turn also when you're focusing. The head is a bit loose - will wobble.
I bought a whole bunch of line lasers from Deal Extreme for a 3D scanner rig that needed a focused line. Ended up going with a cheaper and more portable line laser. This one has too many mechanical issues making it a non-precision instrument.
If you're looking for an entertainment application laser - get this one. If your project requires precision - a solid line that doesn't wobble when the laser is under mechanical stress, then go for a 2~5mW 650nm Line Laser Module.
