  • Good but stinky

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:

This forms a good, strong bond to almost anything. Set up time is fast, around 5 minutes, with full strength at 24 hours. The nozzles are quite fine so it's easy to squeeze out just a small drop when you only need a little bit. It's cheap, too.

    Cons:

It's VERY smelly. Be sure to use it in a well ventilated area. The cured color is a purplish milky-white, not water clear. This may be a drawback for those situations where a clear adhesive is needed. The max temperature is 100C, so don't use it where heat is an issue.

    OtherThoughts:

Compared to epoxy, acrylic can bond a greater range of materials than most other adhesives, especially plastics. The downside is that it is not as strong, and is not as heat resistant.

    Bottomline:

This is a good adhesive to have in your arsenal.
