  • Greay design with some minor build quality issues

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:

    - Compass is surprisingly responsive for being a button compass

    - Thermometer appears to be only 3 degrees F off

    - Has a rotating degree plate to set direction of travel

    - Looks much more expensive than it is

    Cons:

    - Rotating plate is a "click" lock but for 90 degrees of its range, it spins freely making it likely not to stay put.

    OtherThoughts:

Don't depend on this for any REAL navigation. I plan on this hanging on my pack strap and giving me quick reads while on a trail. If any real navigation is required I can pull out the real compass.

    Bottomline:

Buy this and throw it on your pack.
