  • Getting it to work on Linux

    posted by SteffanS on 08/21/2013

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Works with Linux and Windows.
fast readings, when i run the script it reads almost instant

Mine shows 6 degrees Celsius too much, but i scripted me out of that one to get the correct temp, and now works fine

If i run the script to read the temp at some unlucky moments, i get an error that the device is not ready, but when reading the temp again 1 seconds after it works, so sometimes it's "Busy"

To had some trouble getting this device working on Linux, i needed it to monitor my servers room temperature using a Raspberry Pi with Raspbian (Debian Linux)
I made a guide, to get this exact product to work on Linux, including programs and how-to that you can find here: http://dev-random.net/temperature-measuring-using-linux-and-raspberry-pi/

Great device, really cheap! i can recommend it
