This charging extension uses an embedded resistor to 'signal' the connected device into pulling a full charge current from the connected charger. Therefore, my Galaxy Nexus will pull up to 1A (1000mA) of current from any charger that supports that much current, including Apple's own iPad and iPhone chargers. My Nexus 7 will pull up to 2A.
Adds some length to the charging cable, making it a wee bit cumbersome.
While using my Galaxy Nexus for in-car GPS Navigation, none of my Apple-compatible car chargers could supply enough current to charge the Nexus battery. With this this extension cable between the car charger and the Nexus, the battery voltage goes UP even during heavy use. Same goes for my Nexus 7.
Allows full-current charging for Android devices that you want to connect to Apple-compatible chargers.
