  • Extremely good value for money

    posted by kipsus on 10/08/2012

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Rugged, well thought out structure.
Includes a nice pouch, a multi-tool and some spare parts.
Easy to use, very stable in operation.

The multi-tool is not very good, does not fit the nuts very well. I would suggest getting a cheap, small wrench for the critical and often used joints.
Joints need to be tightened very well - got numerous leaks (and therefore unexpected bursts of flame) due to not tightening hard enough.
Depressurizing is messy due to absence of a dedicated valve.

DO experiment with nozzles - the one included in the bag is not a "replacement" but actually a different diameter nozzle. In my case swapping them out resulted in cleaner, more sustained flame.
DO NOT underestimate the dangers of using liquid fuel, this type of stove requires a lot more attention than any gas stove. But once you got that under your belt, the benefits are obvious.

All in all I consider this to be a great value for money as the drawbacks are not that severe and hey, the more expensive western stoves also have quirks, it's not like you automatically get a trouble free stove for 150$.
