Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:

Did exactly what I needed. I only have SATA power in my Dell Optiplex 745. I bought a USB 3.0 card that needs supplemental power and has a Molex connector. With this cable I was able to bridge from SATA to Molex and power the USB card.

    Cons:

Wire is very short. The SATA cable I had available was for the DVD or floppy drive at the top of the case and the USB card is in the opposite corner. The provided cable length did not come close to reaching. Fortunately I had some other Molex connectors laying around so once I had tapped into the SATA power supply I was able to add another Moles to Molex cable and reach where I needed to go.

    Bottomline:

    It worked for my application.
