Great device for acceptable price – USB FM Transmitter Reviews

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

Pros:
Tested under linux only; very easy to setup (plug and play), randomly selects 1 of 3 available transmitting frequencies and just works. I played movies and music over the device. Build quality is unexpectedly good - the device is very tough. Sufficient transmission range - my cellphone FM tuner is able to receive the signal at ~7 meters.
Cons:
- the signal noise is quite high, acceptable, but in the quiet parts of the music it is disturbing - the selection of transmission freq is random, using the button on the device you can change it, but some memory of the last setting would be better - the sideband transmission is quite strong - e.g. it should transmitt on 89.1, but you can clearly tune it on 89.0 to 89.2 (not a real problem) - the device is quite thick, covering the second USB port next to it on my laptop
Other:
None so far.
Bottomline:
Great device for exceptional price, sufficient transmission distance, I recommend.
