Cheap fix for your input problems

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Cheap, very flexible and very versatile matrix keypad. Used this to replace a broken Microwave input panel and even after months of intensive use it performs well. Has a clear feeling of when the "click" connects. Glue strip on the back is strong...
    Cons:
No big con's I can think of. Other than that it came without instructions or pinout. Had to find out witch pins were for what p...

    A good keypad

posted by mattura on 11/13/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
As described, very thin, a little flexible (you could stick it to a curved surface), clear keys with nice 'touch'. As mentioned it can be used with the keypad library here http://playground.arduino.cc/Code/Keypad
    Cons:
The header looks like it might come out if pulled hard, so be careful with it

A good keypad to use with arduino

posted by Edupenna on 05/29/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
The quality of the keypad is ammazing. It cames with a self adhesive transparent pelicule on the back of the keypad. When you lift it you can see the conection of the rows and coluns of the matrix.
    Cons:
To use with Arduino, you can select the standart keypad library but you have to change the symbols of the buttons. Use the exam...

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
It's so thin that it is easy to glue it to something instead of having to drill a lot of holes. The buttons aren't super sensitive so you won't accidently press the wrong button. No proprietary connectors so hooking it up won't be the problem. Small enough ...
    Cons:
The flat-flex cable consists of two of 4 wires instead of one with 8 wires. This makes bending the cable not that easy. Also th...

    Very useful for DIY projects

posted by DamyanMitev on 01/08/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Small enough to be used in various applications, buttons large enough even for fat fingers. "Buttons" are easy to press, with discrete "click" feeling - no wondering "did I press this?" Material is quite strong, yet flexible.
    Cons:
Does not come with holes or other dedicated means to fix this keypad in position (the glue on the back is hardly reliable for a...

An usefull gadget that does its job

posted by unailopez16 on 08/24/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
You can use it to build your own projects, like a simple circuit with a PIC18, and it will work correctly. I´ve been using it for 3 months and it doesn´t seem to break in the future.
    Cons:
Because its construction is in plastic, the first impression is that this article is a bit crappy, but nothing is further from ...
