    Best arduino shield ever!

posted by Alver on 05/09/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Plug and play; I was expecting some hassle to get it working but it turns out to be "almost" a no-brainer. Example sketches from arduino IDE compiled and executed perfectly. Even the TF slot worked well too.
    Cons:
None at all. I was expecting PoE but to be honest I don´t even have a switch supporting PoE, so it´s irrelevant.

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Gives you access to output from Arduino to the net Cheap compared to others - have seen these fr over $20 Basically just duplicates the pins on the arduino when you mount it on to the top of the Arduinio board
    Cons:
You will need to be careful when pushing it on to get all the pins lined up exactly perfectly - this took a little bit of time ...

    cheap and good shield

posted by soso1 on 04/10/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Works perfectly on my Arduino Uno and allso on my Nanino 0.6. The packaging was very good so nothing got damaged or bend. The pins were all in a thic layer of foam so there is littel chance to damage it.
    Cons:
The chip is a bit hungry. It draws about 160mA with the default WebServer testing sketch (together with arduino uno) so 6 AA ba...

    Great product - Just works

posted by cwikstro on 04/09/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Works perfectly on both original Arduino Uno and Dx Mega. Simply place the shield on the board, load the included arduino ethernet sketches and it just works (!). Also the same with the sd card slot - put in a card, and it works.
    Cons:
    None so far.

    Pros:
The material of the equipment is very good. The fit was perfect in the Arduino Uno.
    Cons:

    Very good product

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Cheap, good build quality, package protects long pins during transport. Components and soldering are good. It works perfectly with my Arduino Mega 2650, all the Arduino Ethernet library are working. The LEDs are the same of the original Arduino board.
    Cons:
Nothing to say. I would prefer a SD slot instead of micro SD.

    Pros:

Really good deal on Arduino ethernet!

posted by tstirlingc on 01/25/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Super inexpensive, especially compared to US ethernet shields for Arduino (approx 1/3 cost). Pins are long enough to not touch USB port on Arduino Uno.
    Cons:
Pins bent in shipment, very fine pins are a little too easy to bend around. Easy to bend back into shape.

A good ethernet board, but a little difficult to setup

posted by Darkblade48 on 01/23/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
The shield uses the easy to configure Wiznet W5100 chip; this is the same as the original Arduino Ethernet shield. This means that the default Ethernet library can be used (there are more difficult to work with chips out there). The shield also comes with a...
    Cons:
The stackable header pins are a bit long; this might prevent the ISP header from making contact with the underlying pins. If th...
