Good bulb for cordless work lights

posted by avenuej on 01/13/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Can be used with voltages up to 18V so its a good option for Cordless work lights. Fit my Porter Cable work light with only minor modifications. After the mod it almost looks like it was made that way. Much much brighter than the original bulb. DX replaced...
    Cons:
1st one was DOA. I knocked off 1-star on quality since the first one was bad. Otherwise I'd give it 5 stars.

    Great drop-in

posted by pinetree89 on 04/11/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
An excellent well made drop-in. Despite it being superseded by the XP-G, XM-L and other emitters, let's face it, the small die size of the XR-E emitter makes for great throw in a light. My unit arrived and was packaged very well. The emitter appeared to ...
    Cons:
The XR-E has the metal ring around the outside of the emitter. This makes for the infamous "Cree Ring", a darkening ...

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Postal packaging was good, the damage to the module is not received. The light is very bright, surprisingly good given the low power consumption. White light, no blue or yellow. When powered from 4.5V corps almost never hot.
    Cons:
When connected to a power source, it was found that the electronic unit is not working ... LED had to be connected directly to ...

    I love this product!

posted by gcbryan on 05/13/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
I love this drop-in! It's the highest more efficient version (R2) of this led (XR-E), it's being sold for a good price, and it's in the right size (P60) not to mention it's a single mode version so no strobes to deal with. What's not to like!
    Cons:
There are no cons for this product as far as I'm concerned.
