Cheap, small, enough powerful DC-DC convertor that is suitable for DIY projects. You can achieve up to 2A continuous current with additional heatsink.
Without heatsink it becomes too hot at current near 1A; coil at 2A current is 10-15C hotter than other board/heatsink (it'll be good to use coil with lower active resistance)
I use it for EeePC 1001P 24V charger (EeePC consumes 18V ~2A; DC-DC consumes 1.5A 25V); I placed it on heatsink from Asus NForce3 (by 2 screws); now I have +72C on heatsink and higher than 80C on coil at the table after 10 minutes. Not so bad, but I expected higher efficiency.
Cheap and useful device, without big cons at it's price. It's cheaper than single IC when you buy 10+ pcs.
