This device generates "only" 100W of power, so why would you want it? The answer is that because it generates "only" 100W of power, it can afford to be fan-less, which is a very big deal! Besides, if you're only using an inverter to charge up your laptop and cellphone as you drive, using a much more powerful inverter would mean you lose a higher percentage of power in the process, making it less energy-efficient! The built-in USB port that outputs 5V 500mA is perfect for charging devices that would charge via a regular USB port on a computer.
It runs a little hot, being of the fan-less design, but that's to be expected. Also it produces a square wave instead of a true sine wave output, but that's to be expected from its price. A true sine wave output inverter will cost several times more. When I attached a 8W CFL lamp to the inverter I do not notice any noticeable flicker, however.
Highly recommend if all you need is to charge devices on the go, or power low-power electronics or lights.
