    Pros:
This module is surprisingly sensitive (you'll need to calibrate it, but it works well afterward) for its price and has a much smaller minimum sensing distance than most sensors I've seen in the <$30USD range.
    Cons:
The return signal to your microcontroller or other device is a pulse duration, rather than a I2C or SPI or other standard digit...

    Pros:
Nice price! Works perfect for my work, but it may not suit everybody. The distance I'm measuring is maximum 50 cm. Lot's of info available online on how to hook up to Arduino, just google HC-SR04.
    Cons:
No cons for me, but if you want a longer range which is really stable, you might want to look for another option.

Involvement:Novice  (still getting used to it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
This is my first distance measuring item. I hesitated between a IR module and this one, based on ultra-sound technology. This ultrasonic sensor is quite easy to use, for example to estimated a distance between your device and a wall or another object. You c...

I ordered 2 modules. One of them had two pin-connectors were creased. I had to realign them with a clamp.
