Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
-charges without sunlight, just place it near a lamp or window, and it will charge -good quality constructions -the radio works very good, reception can be tricky in certain locations, but you can always extend the antenna by connecting a longer wire
    Cons:
it has a odd shape, due to which it is tricky to put it down and make it face the sun for charging, but due to the solar cell b...

    Very useful

posted by Manya84 on 04/16/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
It's quality is great. All the functionalities work fine, just as explained. The dinamo crank handle looks very strong. Although it didn't bring all the necessary cellphone charger, with the USB adapter you can charge almost any recent cellphone.
    Cons:
It gets really hot when the solar charge is used. If you want to find a specific radio signal it can be tricky.

expensive, but excellent quality and functionality

posted by mongman on 01/18/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
This item impresses with it's quality. It was more expensive than other similar products here, but I have no regrets on paying more for this. It keeps itself charged up for emergency or ad hoc use just sitting where it is (as long as the panel is facing up!...
    Cons:
Unusual shape means it is a little unstable compared to say a flat bottomed object but this is only a minor issue. The buttons ...

Whilst the build quality looks good I'm worried how the crank handle will stand the test of time, If used correctly (and not in...

Works OK, Versatile, But Not the Best Design

posted by Festus on 05/22/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Versatile, compact, light and small. Charge light suggests it's charging even indoors at night when the room lights are on. FM-only radio draws in nearby stations OK. Four LED lights are adequate for close-by personal use and, as a flashlight, fits hand nic...
    Cons:
Shape might fit nicely in the hand or pocket, but too many curves make it difficult to position appropriately for the sun, spea...
