This is an amplified piezoelectric speaker. It uses a transistor to amplify a logic-level signal and drive the piezo unit.
This is not a buzzer. You must provide a waveform on the S pin to get a tone out of the speaker. There is no built-in tone driver.
When you pull the S pin low, the speaker emits a single click. You must provide a square wave to get a tone out of it.
This seems to be a decent little amplified piezo speaker, but it is most definitely not a buzzer, as advertised. I bought it for my son to use in his arduino projects, and it works fine for that application.
