Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month
I received few weeks ago, and today (22.03.2009) I test it using 2 x 18650 (2500mA) Li-Ion cells.
I measured current (onload) and is around 160-165mA, for a partially charged cells (3.86 booth of mine).
Charging time: 5H/each, and now boot are 4.21V.
It can't be a cons, but should be mentioned. This charger is over-rated, the charging current is 160mA. Does it mean that when battery is fully discharged, 17h to fully charge one 2500mA Li-ion cell! In my case, this is a pros not a cons. Slower charging time it mean LONGER battery life.
If you want to charge 2 batteries at the same time, buy 2! It worth!
I cannot guarantee that is protected charger, but seems to be.
- when connected, it has a led built-in which is turning to GREEN
- when connect a discharged or partially charged battery, the led turn to RED
- when fully charged, led turns again to GREEN
