Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Perfectly working with Windows 8: great speed and stability. No more blue screens and sustained high speeds to my gigabit devices, both in down and upload
    Cons:
You have to download drivers for most operating systems. Sometimes I had blue screens and reboots with Windows 7

posted by yangibear on 02/15/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
This device is performing quite well. Some experiences what I have met: -USB hot plugable, makes installation easy -Swift IP response, even when i accidentally unplug it. -I get transfer speed of approx 23~27MB/s on Gigabit network, not bad at all
    Cons:
It is more cosmetic kind:the housing color ,the size of the housing.

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
This product is perfect for those laptops without a Network point. Pretty light, portable and nifty. Most importantly is the device using USB to work on.
    Cons:
One thing I don't like is lack of support for Windows 7 (64 bit) Operating System. Sometimes Buggy in the sense that it wouldn'...

Good idea for new laptops with only 100Mbit

posted by SirDeath on 10/10/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Excellent for newer laptops lacking gigabit Ethernet. Works best with Windows. Windows 7 backup time almost halved over the network when compared to regular fast Ethernet.
    Cons:
It does get a little warm. Speed is limited by the speed of the USB bus, so you don't get the maximum theoretical benefit. It...

    Very nice item

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Great it you want a speedier network connection on older laptops or some of the newer netbooks with only 10/100 network card built in. Especially useful if you have a NAS since 100 mbit is just a bit on the slow side. Don't need the driver CD to install. Bu...
    Cons:
Seems to get a bit warm when running gigabit (which is probably why you've bought in the first place). However nothing I'd be w...
