Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week
-End of wire was neatly taped down with a little bit of tape.
-Enough solder to last a couple of dozen projects.
-Some soldering stations have built in holders for solder wire in reel form.
-Wire thickness not compatible for SMD work, I use it out of necessity, but it requires extra effort.
-Flux doesn't seem to cut it for some older component leads, a secondary source of flux needed on more oxidised parts.
-I attached mine to a wooden dowel glued to my soldering station, for easy access to solder. I can also just reel it back up and leave it attached with my soldering station for convenient storage or transport.
Worth it, a great source of solder. May need secondary source of flux.
I prefer reel solder compared to solder that comes in those tubes. The tube ones are less handy.
