This basic buck driver works well and provides good brightness. I used it to replace the broken driver in my Ultrafire C2 flashlight. I also replaced the CREE XR-E P4 LED with a CREE XR-E Q5.
The Ultrafire C2 will accept either 2x16340 or 1x18650. Using one 3.7v battery the flashlight stays cool but the brightness dimiishes quite quickly. With two 3.7v bateries the flashlight is brighter. One bright mode is delivering 1amp to the LED is great and you do not have the bother of cycling through multiple modes to get to max brightness.
Does not work that well with one 18650 li-ion battery. This is because the buck driver needs a differential in voltage to work. Will not work very well at the quoted 3v min.
