    50mW 532nm Green Laser Module (3V 11.9mm)

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Ready to attach to power source. Bright enough to see beam in most lighting conditions. Small enough to fit into many types of enclosures.
    Cons:
If you value your eyes, get some goggles that cover 532, 808 and 1064nm... or use a piece of heat absorbing glass in front of t...

    Cheap and powerful

posted by zak4000 on 02/02/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
*Very powerful, can easily see the beam indoors *Current draw is ~400mA from 5V USB, ~260mA from 4.5V 3x AA batteries. *Much quicker to burn stuff when powered by USB.
    Cons:
*Wires come off easily, but soldering them back on and adding a little bit of glue fixes that. *Transistor on the PCB gets hot ...

Nice green laser pointer, works well

posted by bamsoft on 01/09/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
The laser pointer is very bright and gives a good geen narrow beam. I used it to point out stars to other people which works very well. Tried out to project a dot on a wall at a distance of >500 meters and this worked without problem!
    Cons:
The leads are too stiff. They broke off after bending them a few times. So i soldered some more flexible lead to the device.

    Pros:
Ready to attach to power source. Bright enough to see beam in most lighting conditions. Small enough to fit into many types of enclosures.
    Cons:
Limited focusing range, leads need to be re-soldered right out of the package. Not truly 50mW output. 50mW Input current wou...

    Pros:
    Cheap. Powerful.

    Awesome!

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Easy to use/setup, can be focused, very bright, some burning ability. Great for doing F/X, general experimentation, astronomy.
    Cons:
As everyone says, wires come off easy, but easy fix in 2 seconds with a small soldering iron. Be prepared to do this right away.

    Good laser

posted by einyaa on 11/21/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:less than 1 day

    Pros:
Strong, round beam visible indoor in daylight. Easy to screw off two lenses in order to access the KT-crystal. Here is the beam very thin, and can burn plastic instantly.
    Cons:
May be not full 50 mW green. Infrared light also present in output due to lack of filtering. Bad soldering of wires (the fall o...

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Very powerful for the price (I would be happy paying more) and the package size. The driver circuit is excellent and will maintain constant power over a relatively large voltage range. Beam can be easily seen at night even with a bit of moon poking out.
    Cons:
The wires are crappy and fall off easily but new ones are easy to attach. The circuit board needs support if the button is to b...

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Have bought 3 pieces. Quality of beam and power are GOOD Divergence can be optimised. Two of these lasers are TEM00 (95%) Beam is polarised.
    Cons:
Watch out, infrared energy 808 and 1064nM is mixed with the 532green beam, the 1064 has the same divergence , the 808nM beam ha...
