very cheap and works as it should

posted by paschendale on 05/07/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
ridiculously cheap - point the north correctly, no operational flaws - large enough to be read from a respectable distance, small enough to carry around anywhere in your bag or your pocket - looks good, doesn't look cheap at all
    Cons:
cannot see any for this price.

    Excellent Compass

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
I am amazed at the quality for the price. Do not think I have ever seen an inexpensive fluid filled compass with out an air bubble. Now I've got 5 of them. Needle mount and bearing surface are very good. The needle turns fast, free and stops with no osc...
    Cons:
None, really. The more I look for flaws the more impressed I am with the design and quality of workmanship.

Nice and good compass for the money

posted by tilkka on 03/26/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:less than 1 day

    Pros:
The liquid inside the compass needle to prevent swaying. A pretty good price, the compass. The goal would be to use a compass diving as a tool, but the use of the forest or in the archipelago is also possible, as it is easy to carry around.
    Cons:
Can not be read in the dark. Attaching devices take the glue because the screws are not out of the question.

    Pros:
solid construction, without any apparent failure, I recommend this product. Solid and durable. white paint marks every five degrees, with numerical description of twenty degrees, fine print and correct. Fine needle and with two colors to allow easy reading.
    Cons:
no swivel limbo set a course.

    Pros:
Good for orientation you in the wild. Always point to north, like should be expected from it. Red to north, white to south, so easy to use, once u know how it works. Its very light, dont weight, can be transport in a pocket without u even notice.
    Cons:
Magnets or metallic things affect its needle, so dont put near metal or magnet, or will give u a wrong direction. But appart fr...

    Pros:
Fluid filled compass means it is easily damped, which is great. Plus I think the needle might be resistant to oxidation since there is no air inside it. The north pointing direction is marked in red. Its very portable and also looks great.Dont know is it re...
    Cons:
Scale and signs are not phosphorescent, in some situations and/or applications could be useful.

    Pros:
Quite good accuracy, enough for me for basic measurement. Quite good build, holds together nicely, no scratches.
    Cons:
The green letters and dots seems phosphorescent on DX pictures, but they're not. I anticipated that, so I'm not dissapointed an...

Small, handy and liquid filled compas which fits any pocket. Should be part of every EDC, BOB or survival pack. Good readability even at night.
    Cons:
The one we received does not always work. Even on a plain surface, the needle often hangs. So when out in the bushes I am afrai...
