Good for the money – 2-Port SATA/eSATA PCMCIA/Cardbus Expansion Card for Laptops Reviews

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

Pros:
- Does what it's supposed to - Very cheap - Nice to have the flexibility of a SATA port and and eSATA
Cons:
- Can be tricky to find the right drivers (try VIA Arena) - Card has out of spec thickness, making it a tight fit
Other:
This card has a VIA6421 chipset which makes it ideal for flashing Xbox 360 DVD drives. It did a great job on my Benq 360. Note that if you are flashing a LiteOn drive, you will need to use the UniATA drivers. It's not buggy like some JMicron controllers can be, but I'm not sure how good it would be in day to day to use - it can be finicky at times.
Bottomline:
If you need to flash 360 DVD drives and you don't have a desktop machine, this will get the job done on your laptop.
