I suppose it works as advertised. I measured an output voltage of about 5.2V using my multimeter.
Looks and feels like the original Apple charger, compact.
The USB socket was a bit tight, and my USB cables had to be pushed in with just that extra bit of effort. Despite this, it didn't damage my cable, was just a bit more snug than usual.
Also, it could just be the unit I received, but for some reason, my device, an Arduino, connected to it, zapped me the moment I touched the ground shielding on the board. So the adapter isn't 100% well-grounded, so be careful if you intend to power DIY electronics with this.
Have yet to fully test out its 1000mA rating, for now, it is powering my DIY Arduino project connected to 8 7-segment displays with no issue.
Cheap, lightweight, USB power adapter. Watch out for grounding issues!
