A few additional remarks – Portable Mini GSM/GPRS/GPS Tracker for Personal Remote Positioning Reviews

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

Pros:
Accuracy is in +/- 25 meters. Not too bad for such a small internal antenna.
Cons:
Though documentation say the minimum sampling frequency is 20 seconds, it won't accept requests below 30 s. Nevertheless, position is sent in 40-90 second intervals. (GPRS) The batteries are labeled as 1200 mAh but they provide much less power, as it is usual with most batteries at DX. I would say they have a 600-700 mAh real capacity. The 24-48 hours operating time may be valid only if the device is used in geo-fence or movement alert mode, or being polled in SMSs. Otherwise the live GPRS connection eats up the batteries in less than 6 hours. The LED signs are cryptic in absence of a manual.
Other:
The USB cable is a 8-pin micro USB, used for a bunch of mobile phones and digital cameras. http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Micro_USB_db.jpg The package also includes a transparent waterproof plastic bag that can be mounted on one's belt.
Bottomline:
Still, it does what it says, and can be used for the advertised purpose. Beware, secret tracking is illegal in most countries. If used for child tracking, another model with voice SOS call button is a better choice. Using an external power source one can make a good hidden anti-theft vehicle tracker.
