Pros:
The build quality feels good on this unit Backlit LCD Has a laser which can be turned on or off Has both °F and °C Came with a 9v battery LCD seems to indicate battery charge.
Cons:
The LCD showed me that the new battery was almost out of charge. 9v Battery can be a bit annoying to fit in but not a major issue.
Other:
The accuracy of this unit seems pretty good, I pointed it on an outside thermometer which said 15°C and I got 15.3°C, I also tried it in two freezers an that gave ~-15°C and ~-23°C. Though I have not tried soldering temperatures yet, I'd say this unit is pretty accurate. An IR thermometer of almost the same specs locally would have cost me $90 total so this is a really good price for me.
Bottomline:
Buy it if it costs more locally.
