    Plug and Play

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Had this little thing for almost two years now, never failed me once. Plays Gamecube backups that my husband has accumulated over the years. You just have to know where to get the software. Once you have it set up you forget that it even existed.
    Cons:
None. Love this thing to bits.

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Its cheap and does what it says. If you don't know what this thing does, then don't bother buying it.
    Cons:
Very picky on SD cards that could be used. I would suggest using a regular SD with no High Capacity capabilities. I also had ...

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
It does its job perfectly, it's cheap and it's very useful if you know what you are doing.
    Cons:
There were no instructions and tips on using it. Can not be launched on an unmodified console. It didn't read correctly all my ...

    Works as expected

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
I use this to run homebrew apps and ports of other consoles on the Gamecube. It's pretty straightforward: you stick an Sd card in it, then connect it to the Gamecube's memory port and turn the console on. It fits perfectly, no effort required. It's compatib...
    Cons:
None that I could think of. If you know how to use this thing (requires a modded console or some other way to boot into the me...

    Worked perfectly

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
It worked perfectly, compatible with Wii (PAL, Europe, all firmwares) and with SDHC card (I use a 16GB Sandisk card). I tried it on a Gamecube (PAL, Europe), it worked perfectly too. I use it with Swiss-gc and other gamecube homebrews, I never had any pro...
    Cons:
Nothing to reproach, all is as I thought.

    Do your research in advance!

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Works perfectly, that is, if you know how to use it. Is compatible on my PAL Gamecube with the SD cards I tried: 2GB random Chinese brand and 1GB Kingston. This SD card adapter works as a softmod perfectly well if you find a way to boot it (several method...
    Cons:
No instructions, software or tips on the package, so do your research on the net. I can point you in the right direction if nec...

    Great SD Gecko device

posted by Sicklyboy on 03/11/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Does exactly what you would need an SD Gecko to do. Supports SDHC, just need to find a program that can support SDHC cards as well. Good build quality, works with SD Gecko GC backup loading programs.
    Cons:
None as of yet, performs exactly as it should.

SD Gecko (not a memory card replacement)

posted by Yuanx on 09/13/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
It's just a contact adapter for SD, you can do it yourself if you like (but why risk damaging a memory card port when this one is so cheap?). So, SDHC compability is only linked to homebrew you run with it. Since most gamecube's homebrew are not updated any...
    Cons:
No Cons. Good build quality and nice price.
