posted by estebanarg on 08/29/2012
Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month
Low power consumption
Good connection options HDMI, DVI, D-SUB
Easy to install
Acceleration for H.264 and other video formats
Games that run very well up to 1360x768: Painkiller, Need for Speed Carbon, Starcraft II, QUAKE 4
HDMI works like a charm with both image and audio on a 32" HDTV.
Low end performance, but for the price it is ok.
It struggles a little with Unreal 3 and games that use that engine like Bioshock, and of course the latest games, but it's to be expected.
I could oveclock this card from 600mhz core/400mhz RAM, to 750MHZ core and 550MHZ RAM going from an average of 130 fps in ATItool to almost 190 fps. That improvement has impact in games too.
It can play games from 2006 to 2010 in 1360x768 in medium settings very well.
And can play current games in low settings pretty decently.
A good solution for a movie watching PC or HTPC with casual gaming capabilities.
